Yes indeed, hello world.
Well this is my first blog entry and I will use it to update you on where I am now.
Currently I am a PR student at Bournemouth University, I spent my placement year in London and I am now by the seaside once more.
Well, final year what can I say. I thought that after working for a year I would be ready to come back, but truth be told it has taken me an age to get back into study mode.
The year out was definitely needed though and I would advise everyone that has the opportunity to do a placement year to do one. The skills that you learn are invaluable and during credit crunch times like these, your experience could help you stand out from the crowd.
Well, what am I doing now? As I said I am a final year student due to graduate this year. And, like most final year students I have to do a dissertation. Ergh, the dreaded “D” word! Mine is on the use of social media and crisis communications and while it is certainly very topical (many of the big disasters of the past year or so have had some sort of social media coverage) the lack of previous research on it is a bit of a problem.
Also, like the thousands of students due to graduate this year, my thoughts have indeed turned to graduate jobs and what I should do for the next year. After careful consideration, my decision has been to use the next year (or two) to travel the world and have some fun. So unlike many students I am not frantically sending out CV’s and filling in page long application forms for graduate PR jobs but instead looking at where I would like to do a ski season (preferably Les Arcs in France) and where in Latin America I would like to spend six months (Venezuela)! I can hardly contain my excitement!

Hey Sarah, I’ve been reading your excellent blog and just thought i’d let you know that i’ve added it to my blogroll.
Keep up the good work! I remember when I started blogging back in 2007 and shared many of the thoughts you have covered:
